A morada dos eleitos: um ensaio sobre a metanarrativa bíblica na literatura fantástica de C. S. Lewis

Abstract

Este trabalho é dividido em duas partes: um ensaio teórico e uma narrativa ficcional longa com um prólogo e dois capítulos. O ensaio analisa a relação entre a metanarrativa bíblica e a literatura fantástica, com foco no romance As crônicas de Nárnia: o leão, a feiticeira e o guarda-roupa de C. S. Lewis (2011) e a construção do protagonista Edmundo Pevensie. O objetivo é mostrar como essas duas formas de literatura estão interligadas e como isso influencia a formação das personagens e o público leitor. Foram consultados materiais teóricos sobre os estudos de Marcio S. Vasconsellos (2019) e Colin. N. Manlove (1992) sobre as narrativas cristãs e seu papel no gênero fantástico, além de Northrop Frye (2021), que discute a influência da Bíblia na literatura. Essas referências teóricas proporcionam uma base sólida para explorar as intertextualidades entre as histórias ficcionais e a Bíblia sagrada. Também reflete sobre a literatura fantástica e a Bíblia sagrada, abordarem experiências humanas e teológicas, desafiando estruturas racionais e explorando o mistério e o sagrado. O prólogo e os dois capítulos ficcionais são parte da narrativa longa intitulada A morada dos eleitos, ainda em construção. Eles narram a história de duas irmãs em caminhos distintos paralelamente, explorando em seu enredo as intertextualidades do fantástico com a Bíblia. Através dessa abordagem, busca-se revelar como essas influências se manifestam e impactam as vidas das personagens, proporcionando uma experiência envolvente e reflexiva.

This work is divided into two parts: a theoretical essay and a long fictional narrative with a prologue and two chapters. The essay analyzes the relationship between biblical metanarrative and fantastic literature, focusing on the novel The chronicles of Narnia: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe by C. S. Lewis (2011) and the construction of the protagonist Edmund Pevensie. The goal is to show how these two forms of literature are intertwined and how this influences the formation of the characters and the readership. Theoretical materials were consulted in the studies of Marcio S. Vasconsellos (2019) and Colin. N. Manlove (1992) on Christian narratives and their role in the fantastic genre, as well as Northrop Frye (2021), who discusses the influence of the Bible on literature. These theoretical references provide a solid foundation for exploring the intertextualities between fictional stories and The Holy Bible. It also reflects on how fantastic literature and The Holy Bible address human and theological experiences by challenging rational structures and exploring mystery and the sacred. The prologue and the two fictional chapters are part of the long narrative entitled A morada dos eleitos, still under construction. They tell the story of two sisters on different paths in parallel, exploring in their plot the intertextualities of the fantastic with the Bible. Through this approach, it seeks to reveal how these influences manifest themselves and impact the lives of the characters, providing an engaging and reflective experience.
