| Abstract: | Este trabalho tem como objetivo saber como é a representação e a representatividade de negros e negras no jornalismo de ciência e tecnologia no Brasil. Os objetos de estudo escolhidos foram as reportagens presentes nas edições de setembro, outubro e novembro de 2018 das revistas Galileu e Superinteressante, duas das maiores publicações do gênero e de maior circulação no país. Para compreender com que frequência pessoas negras aparecem nas produções e em que contexto, é utilizada a metodologia da análise de conteúdo, com apoio de dados quantitativos sobre a incidência dessas fontes em textos e imagens. O referencial teórico desta monografia inclui, entre outras, as obras de Adichie (2014), Daves (2016) e Ribeiro (2018), que abordam questões de representatividade negra, racismo, inclusão social e local de fala; Cintra (2007) e Borges e Borges (2012), que falam sobre a presença da figura negra no jornalismo e na mídia; Oliveira (2007) e Bueno (2009) que abordam o que é o jornalismo científico e sobre essa editoria no Brasil; Hall e Woodward (2000), que discorrem sobre estudos culturais e identidade; Durkheim (2011), ao abordar a respeito do fato social e a divisão de trabalho no Brasil; além de Bardin (2009) e Moraes (1999), que explicam a metodologia de análise de conteúdo, sua aplicação e eficiência. O autor conclui que a representatividade e a representação negra nesta editoria são escassas, com uma visibilidade limitada, e demonstra baixa pluralidade de temas e contextos abordados, o que abre margem para diversos debates e discussões sobre o tema.
This research aims to provide a better understanding of the diversity present in the coverage of scientific journalism, to make an analysis of the black representation in this section in Brazil. The study objects chosen were the reports of Galileo and Superinteressante magazines, two of the largest publications of the genre and the largest circulation in the country, in the editions of September, October and November of 2018. To understand how often black people appear in productions and in what context the methodology of content analysis is used, with the support of quantitative data on the incidence of these sources in texts and images. The theoretical reference of this research includes, among others, the studies of Adichie (2014), Daves (2016) and Ribeiro (2018) about problematic of black representativeness, racism, social inclusion and place of speech. Cintra (2007), and Borges and Borges (2012) talking about the presence of the black figure in journalism and the media. Oliveira (2007) and Bueno (2009) that address what is scientific journalism and about this section in Brazil. Moraes (1999) Hall and Woodward (2000), which discuss cultural studies and identity. Durkheim (2011), when discussing the social fact and the division of labor in Brazil, besides Bardin (2009) and Moraes (1999), explain the methodology of content analysis, its application and efficiency. The author concludes that the black representativeness in this edition is scarce, has limited visibility and demonstrates low plurality of themes and contexts presented. |
