| Abstract: | As imagens e representações usadas para definir um determinado grupo influenciam diretamente no entendimento que se tem dele. O fato pode se tornar ainda mais frequente quando se trata de um grupo seleto, que historicamente foi posto em um lugar de incapacidade e marginalização, como é o caso do sujeito surdo. O jornalismo é um dos principais agentes quando se fala em representação. É por isso que a presente monografia tem a proposta de entender como esse grupo vem sendo representado nos jornais Folha de S. Paulo e Nexo Jornal. A pesquisa aborda os conceitos básicos em relação à surdez, à cultura surda e às identidades. Para isso, conta-se com a contribuição de Strobel (2016), Perlin (2016) Gesser (2009), Gonçalves (2015) e Hall (2004). A fim de entender as ideias de representação e estereótipos, o estudo considera as concepções de Moscovici (2003) e Lippmann (2008). Além disso, a monografia apresenta uma análise de conteúdo de quatro matérias selecionadas, usando o modelo apontado por Bardin (2004).Na análise, foram identificados termos e nuances identitárias ligados aos sujeitos surdos, mas que, na realidade, não fazem parte da sua identidade e do modo de experimentar o mundo.
The images and representations used to define a given group directly influence the understanding of it. The fact can become even more frequent when it comes to a select group, which has historically been put in a place of inability and marginalization, as is the case of the deaf subject. Journalism is one of the main agents when it comes to representation. This is why the present monograph has the purpose of understanding how this group has been represented in the newspapers Folha de São Paulo and Nexo Jornal. The research approaches the basic concepts in relation to deafness, the deaf culture and to identities. For this, it is counted on the contribution of Strobel (2016), Perlin (2016) Gesser (2009), Gonçalves (2015) and Hall (2004). In order to understand the ideas of representation and stereotypes, the study considers the conceptions of Moscovici (2003) and Lippmann (2008). Moreover, the monograph presents an analysis of content of four selected articles, using the model pointed out by Bardin (2004). In the analysis, terms and identity nuances linked to deaf subjects were identified, but are not actually part of their identity and way of experiencing the world. |
