Ave Maria, ave senhoras de todas as graças!: um estudo do feminino na perspectiva das relações de gênero na Castela do século XIII

Abstract

Este estudo investiga a importância da Virgem Maria no universo mental iberocastelhano do século XIII, a partir de uma reflexão histórico-antropológica. Assim, observa que a presença muçulmana em território cristão marcou a história da sociedade peninsular, que numa luta de credo contra credo lançou mão do culto à Maria que, como um sistema de valor, orientado por diretrizes de gênero, serviu de modelo para homens e mulheres da Castela medieval. Além disso, observa que essa sociedade participou, com grande entusiasmo, do movimento de exaltação mariana que caracteriza os séculos XII e XIII. A forma ibérica de celebrar a Mãe de Deus marcou sua história e seu quotidiano, pois estava, ao mesmo tempo, tão habituado ao convívio com o diferente e tão marcado pela diferença entre os sexos. Nesse contexto, a Virgem Mãe serviu de exemplum que inspirou num mesmo movimento, tanto aquelas que optaram pela virgindade, num casamento místico quanto àquelas que escolheram a maternidade, função principal da mulher no matrimônio.

This study investigates the importance of Virgen Mary in the mental ibero spanish universe of XIII century from a historical-anthropological reflexion. Though observes the moslem presence in catholic occupied territories marking the peninsular society history which in front of a fight of erreds took hold of worshinping Mary who as a system of values, guided by means of gender, served as model to men and women of the medieval Castella regionin Spain. Besides it verifies this society participating with enthusiasm in the movement to exalt Mary that characterized the XII and XIII centuries. The Iberic way to celeberate the Mother of God marked its history and its quotidian so used to the different and so remarked by the difference among sex. In this context the Virgen Mother served as an example to those inspired in the some way as much those that aptted by the virginity into a mystic mariage as some that chose the maternity, main function of womem in maternity.
