A compreensão da estatística a partir da utilização da planilha

Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objetivo investigar a imagem, a aprendizagem e o interesse dos estudantes com relação à Estatística, comparando a abordagem tradicional (aula expositiva) com uma metodologia que envolve o uso da planilha. Como forma de motivar e envolver o aluno uma pesquisa de campo foi realizada levando em conta um tema de interesse dos estudantes. O trabalho foi realizado utilizando como amostra uma turma de alunos do terceiro ano do Ensino Médio de uma escola particular do interior do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O delineamento da investigação colocou metade da turma com a aula expositiva tradicional enquanto a outra metade foi trabalhada com uma metodologia envolvendo o uso da planilha. Os resultados foram confrontados através de análise de variância e o teste t para amostras independentes. Os estudantes sujeitos a metodologia tradicional tiveram ao final, aulas na informática, aplicando os conhecimentos adquiridos.

This paper aims at investigating students’ image, learning and interest towards Statistics, comparing the traditional approach (expository class) with a methodology which involves the use of spreadsheets. A field research was conducted, taking into account the students’ areas of interest, in order to motivate and involve them. The experiment was conducted, using a group of pupils from a private school in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The guidelines of the experiment divided the group in two; one having expository classes and the other was exposed to the use of spreadsheets. The outcomes were compared through the analysis of variation and the T test for independent samples. The students exposed to the traditional methodology, eventually had computing science lessons, making use of the knowledge acquired.
