| Resumen: | Este estudo analisa as singularidades do Conservadorismo reveladas na Filosofia Política inaugurada por Edmund Burke. A fim de investigar os valores aludidos pelo autor, exploramos os cânones do Conservadorismo, apresentados por Russel Kirk, submetendo suas descobertas aos demais comentadores. De posse dos conceitos do Conservadorismo, percorremos sua trajetória histórica, partindo dos eventos da Revolução Francesa, que foram amplamente analisados por Edmund Burke em sua obra Reflexões sobre a Revolução na França. A prudência, a liberdade e a justiça, valores centrais do conservadorismo burkeano, foram cotejadas com a interpretação de autores contemporâneos, como Michael Oakeshott, Roger Scruton, Russel Kirk e João Pereira Coutinho. A seguir e valendo-se de resultados exclusivos de survey sobre os valores conservadores no Rio Grande do Sul, analisamos a existência dos conceitos do conservadorismo burkeano nas manifestações sociais e políticas da população rio-grandense. Os resultados revelaram a presença do Conservadorismo em diversas afirmações. Para os gaúchos, religião, parentesco, vida em comunidade, regras morais, direitos iguais, mas não coisas iguais são temas atuais e presentes em suas manifestações sociais. Ao final, a compreensão sobre as disposições conservadoras e suas manifestações políticas e sociais no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul ganharam renovada interpretação, possibilitando o contraponto à pretensa manifestação conservadora na política brasileira.
This study analyzes the singularities of Conservatism revealed in Political Philosophy inaugurated by Edmund Burke. In order to investigate the values mentioned by the author, we explored the canons of Conservatism, presented by Russell Kirk, submitting his findings to other commentators. In possession of the concepts of Conservatism, we go through its historical trajectory, starting from the events of the French Revolution, which were widely analyzed by Edmund Burke in his work Reflections on the Revolution in France. Prudence, freedom and justice, central values of Burkean conservatism, were compared with the interpretation of contemporary authors such as Michael Oakeshott, Roger Scruton, Russel Kirk and João Pereira Coutinho. Moreover, using the exclusive results of a survey on conservative values in Rio Grande do Sul, we analyze the existence of concepts of Burkean conservatism in the social and political manifestations of the population of Rio Grande do Sul. The results revealed the presence of Conservatism in several statements. For the gaúchos, religion, kinship, community life, moral rules, equal rights, but not equal things are current themes and present in their social manifestations. In the end, the understanding of the conservative dispositions and their political and social manifestations in the State of Rio Grande do Sul gained a renewed interpretation, enabling the counterpoint to the alleged conservative manifestation in Brazilian politics. |
