Londres real e correspondentes premier: aproximações com o jornalismo e a cultura inglesa por meio dos Podcasts

Abstract

Esta monografia analisa as aproximações com a cultura inglesa e o jornalismo nos podcasts Correspondentes Premier, produzido pela ESPN Brasil e com foco na cobertura da Premier League — o campeonato nacional de futebol mais lucrativo do mundo —, e Londres Real, realizado pela Jovem Pan e que aborda assuntos gerais relacionados ao Reino Unido. O objetivo foi entender de que forma os podcasts Correspondentes Premier e Londres Real trabalharam a aproximação com a cultura inglesa sob o viés jornalístico. Por meio da análise de conteúdo, as preocupações foram: identificar e compreender as categorias características da cultura britânica, formas de lidar com a pandemia, futebol, menção direta ou indireta ao Brasil, componentes jornalísticos, interação com a audiência, segmentação de público e questões técnicas. Para isso, fundamentamos a importância do Reino Unido como nação e suas relações com o Brasil, apoiados em autores como Ferguson (2017), Carvalho (2014) e Evans (2020), e elucidamos as principais características do podcast como linguagem jornalística com base em teóricos como Ferrareto (2007) e Primo (2005). Escolhemos como objetos de análise os episódios “Teve Pausa?” e “Já Merece Estátua?”, do Correspondentes Premier, e “Pecado Capital” e “Esporte Bretão”, do Londres Real. Os resultados indicam a relevância da abordagem jornalística por meio da linguagem dos podcasts, além de apontar para a aproximação dos ouvintes com a cultura do país europeu.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the approaching of the English culture to journalism in the podcasts Correspondentes Premier, produced by ESPN Brasil and focused on the coverage of Premier League — the most profitable national football championship in the world — and Londres Real, conducted by Jovem Pan, which addresses general issues from the United Kingdom. The purpose of this research was to understand how the podcasts Correspondentes Premier and Londres Real developed this approaching to the English culture under a journalistic perspective. Using content analysis, main concerns were identified and understood as categories of British culture, ways of dealing with the pandemic, football, direct or indirect allusions to Brazil, journalistic components, interaction with the audience, audience segmentation, and technical issues. To achieve that, we based the importance of the United Kingdom as a nation and their relations with Brazil, supported by authors like Ferguson (2017), Carvalho (2014) and Evans (2020), and we also elucidated the main characteristics of podcasts as a journalistic language based on theorists such as Ferrareto (2007) and Primo (2005). We chose the episodes “Teve Pausa?” and “Já Merece Estátua?”, by Correspondentes Premier, and “Pecado Capital” and “Esporte Bretão”, by Londres Real as our objects of study. The results indicate the relevance of the journalistic approach through the language of podcasts, in addition to pointing to listeners’ getting closer to the culture of this European nation.
