Em andaimes não se sobe de saia: muralistas mexicanas reconfigurando representações na arte

Abstract

A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar o trabalho das mulheres muralistas no México, por meio de uma análise da sua contribuição para desconstruir ideologias sexistas e reconfigurar a cultura visual mexicana. Busca-se aprofundar a compreensão das diferentes formas de representação da figura feminina nos murais mexicanos, tanto historicamente quanto em produções artísticas contemporâneas que valorizam o papel da mulher como produtora de cultura e conhecimento. Através de uma abordagem crítica e analítica, serão explorados nuances e transformações na representação feminina ao longo do tempo. Para tanto, foram identificados aspectos comuns e distintivos em relação às obras produzidas por artistas do gênero masculino. Pretende-se problematizar os estereótipos utilizados para perpetuar o patriarcado e discutir estratégias de superação. Além disso, o estudo de caso das muralistas contemporâneas visa a compreender os desafios enfrentados pelas mulheres na produção artística no contexto das lutas feministas. Espera-se ampliar o entendimento das dinâmicas de gênero na arte mural mexicana e seu impacto na produção contemporânea, como também poder fomentar discussões sobre igualdade de gênero e empoderamento feminino na história e na arte.

The present research aims to investigate the work of female muralists in México through an analysis of their contribution to deconstruct sexist ideologies and reconfigure Mexican visual culture. The objective is to deepen the understanding of different forms of representation of the female figure in Mexican murals, both historically and in contemporary artistic productions that value the role of women as producers of culture and knowledge. Through a critical and analytical approach, nuances, and transformations in the representation of women over time will be explored. To do so, common and distinctive aspects have been identified in relation to works produced by male artists. The intention is to problematize the stereotypes used to perpetuate patriarchy and discuss strategies for overcoming them. Additionally, the case study of contemporary female muralists aims to comprehend the challenges faced by women in artistic production within the context of feminist struggles. The goal is to expand the understanding of gender dynamics in Mexican mural art and its impact on contemporary production, while also fostering discussions about gender equality and female empowerment in history and art.
