Indústria mineira: mudanças estruturais e aglomerações territoriais

Abstract

Este trabalho avalia o processo histórico de origem e especialização produtiva em Minas Gerais, que se iniciou em 1920, a expansão do setor siderúrgico, bem como, o processo de especialização produtiva da indústria de Minas Gerais, e a predominância da indústria química e metalúrgica a partir dos anos 70. Em seqüência, ocorre a análise sobre a alteração da estrutura produtiva de Minas Gerais, acompanhada da distribuição regional da indústria e da configuração da Economia Mineira no século XXI. Finalmente, a avaliação sobre as Novas Aglomerações Produtivas em Minas Gerais, e a transição ao longo do período 1990 – 2007, em que é aplicada a metodologia proposta por Crocco et all. (2003). Finalmente obtêm-se o índice de concentração normalizado para os sub-setores da indústria de transformação, com o intuito de averiguar se a disposição espacial da indústria mineira apresentou um padrão disperso ou linear, entre 1990 – 2007.

This study evaluates the historical process of origin and specialization of production in Minas Gerais, which began in 1920, the expansion of the steel industry, as well as the process of productive specialization in the industry of Minas Gerais, and the predominance of the chemical industry and metallurgy in the 70s. In sequence, the analysis focused in the changing the production structure of Minas Gerais, together with the regional distribution of industry and the configuration of the mineira economy in the twenty-first century. Finally, the evaluation of New Productive Aglomeration in Minas Gerais, and the transition over the period 1990 - 2007, which is applied the methodology proposed by Crocco et all. (2003). When is obtained the standard concentration index for the sub-sectors of manufacturing industry in order to ascertain whether the spatial layout of the mining industry showed a linear pattern or dispersed between 1990 to 2007.
