"Efeitos visuais como elementos de construção da narrativa cinematográfica em King Kong"

Abstract

Esta tese busca recuperar o papel dos efeitos visuais como algo intrínseco à elaboração da linguagem cinematográfica. Embora a direção e a montagem se tenham se consolidado como as portadoras da enunciação fílmica foi com efeitos visuais que o cinema encontrou uma de suas primeiras especificidades subordinada posteriormente à narrativa. Estudaremos a relação entre efeitos visuais e a montagem a partir das três versões do filme King Kong (1933, 1976 e 2005) discutindo as alterações de parte a parte e estabelecendo uma crítica da onipotência da técnica observando relações de rupturas e continuidades presentes desde o primeiro filme.

This thesis aims to recover the role of visual effects as intrinsic to the development of film language. Although the direction and editing have been consolidated as the main carriers of filmic enunciation, it was with the visual effects that the film found one of its first specificities. We will study the relationship between visual effects and editing from the three versions of the movie King Kong (1933, 1976 and 2005) discussing the changes on both sides and creating a critique of the omnipotence of technical aspects observing relations of ruptures and continuities present since the first film.
