Guerra às drogas e a manutenção da hierarquia racial

Abstract

Esta dissertação aborda e aprofunda os usos de substâncias psicoativas (SPA) e a transformação das SPA em mercadoria. Aponta a gênese do proibicionismo, indicando fatos e discursos que instauraram a proibição das drogas no Brasil, forjando uma guerra às drogas. Para tanto investiga a história da escravidão e o mito da igualdade racial e suas determinações para a hierarquia racial. Ancora-se na perspectiva que para entender a questão racial no Brasil é necessária uma leitura crítica que considere a constituição das relações econômicas, sociais, culturais e políticas, assim como as representações do escravismo e da abolição inconclusa em suas reedições cotidianas, sobretudo na letalidade e encarceramento produzidos pela politica sobre drogas proibicionista. As reflexões finais, resultados de uma ampla pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, apostam em uma sinergia entre raça e classe na produção da guerra às drogas.

This dissertation addresses and deepens the uses of psychoactive substances (SPA) and the transformation of SPA into merchandise. It points to the genesis of prohibitionism, indicating facts and speeches that instituted drug prohibition in Brazil, forging a war on drugs. In doing so, he investigates the history of slavery and the myth of racial equality and its determinations for racial hierarchy. It is anchored in the perspective that in order to understand the racial question in Brazil a critical reading is necessary that considers the constitution of the economic, social, cultural and political relations, as well as the representations of slavery and the unfinished abolition in its daily reediciones, mainly in the lethality and incarceration produced by the prohibitionist drug policy. The final reflections, results of an extensive bibliographical and documentary research, bet on a synergy between race and class in the production of the drug war.
