O anticomunismo nos jornais: Correio do Povo, Diário de Notícias e Última Hora, uma perspectiva de análise

Abstract

O presente estudo analisa o anticomunismo difundido pela imprensa escrita, em Porto Alegre, durante o início da década de sessenta. Busca identificar e avaliar os mecanismos utilizados no combate ao “inimigo vermelho”. Utiliza como base os jornais Correio do Povo (pertencente ao Grupo Caldas Júnior, por ser o mais antigo, o de maior circulação e por liderar as pesquisas de opinião pública entre os jornais mais lidos), o Diário de Notícias (pertencente ao Grupo Diários Associados, devido a sua expressividade, pois, na década de sessenta, foi o segundo jornal mais lido entre os matutinos) e o Última Hora (o único com tendência mais a esquerda, caracterizando-se por buscar sempre uma postura menos radical, e também porque atingia o terceiro lugar na pesquisa do IBOPE). Esse trabalho mostra como os jornais diários se posicionaram frente ao comunismo e, como o apresentaram para a sociedade porto alegrense. Foi através do estudo do conjunto de mecanismos utilizados no combate ao comunismo que se compreende como o tema foi trabalhado nesse período. Nem todos os jornais se mostraram anticomunistas, neste sentido, sendo necessário perceber os silêncios e as omissões. O foco do trabalho é o estudo da mensagem e visa identificar o pensamento do emissor, sua intencionalidade e quais as significações que as mensagens fornecem ao leitor. O trabalho usa a análise textual discursiva como forma de tentar entender o universo midiático e suas performances textuais através das quais manifestam suas ideias e ideologias.

The present study analyzes the anticommunism spread out by the written press, in Porto Alegre, during the beginning of the Sixties. Seeks to identify and evaluate the mechanisms used in the combat to the "red enemy". It uses as basis the newspapers: Correio do Povo (belonging to the Caldas Júnior Group, being the oldest, with the biggest spread and leading the public opinion pools among the most widely read newspapers), the Diário de Notícias (belonging to the Diário Associados Group, due to its expressivity, because, in the Sixties, it was the second most read newspaper among the morning ones) and the Útlima Hora (the only one with a more left-wing tendencies, characterized by always find a less radical stance, and also because it was the third place on pools of IBOPE). This paper shows how the daily newspapers positioned themselves front of the communism and, how they had presented it to the porto alegrense society. It was through the study of mechanisms used in the fight against communism that we understand how the subject has been worked in that period. Not all the newspapers showed themselves as anti-communists, in this way, being necessary to understand the silences and the omissions. The focus of this paper is the study of the message and aims to identify the thought of the sender, its intention and which meaning the messages supply to the reader. The paper uses the textual discoursive analysis as a way to understand the media universe and its textual performances through which they express their ideias and ideologies.
