Modelagem matemática e novas tecnologias: uma alternativa para a mudança de concepções em matemática

Abstract

Esta dissertação apresenta uma pesquisa realizada com alunos concluintes do Ensino Médio, em uma escola pública da cidade de General Câmara, RS. Questionou-se como o emprego da Modelagem Matemática aliada à Informática pode fazer com que alunos modifiquem concepções negativas sobre a Matemática, interessando-se pela disciplina, conscientizando-se de sua importância e reconhecendo sua utilidade. A pesquisa teve uma abordagem qualitativa, a partir de questionários e de observações das atividades desenvolvidas pelos alunos. Os dados quantitativos foram apresentados em tabelas, quadros e textos descritivos. As respostas dos questionários inicial e final foram comparadas; a seguir, foram analisadas as observações realizadas pela autora e os trabalhos apresentados pelos alunos. Ao final da pesquisa, foi possível perceber modificações de concepções negativas dos alunos em relação à Matemática e, também, mudança de postura dos estudantes, que se tornaram mais interessados, críticos e criativos.

This paper presents a research with High School students, in a public school of the city of General Câmara, RS. We have questioned how the use of Mathematics Modeling associated with Informatics can make students modify negative conceptions about Mathematics, being interested in the subject, aware of their importance and recognizing their utility. In this qualitative research, questionnaires and observations of the activities developed by the students were used quantitative data were presented in tables, boards and descriptive texts. Answers of the initial and final questionnaires were compared; then observations carried out by the teacher and works presented by the students were analyzed. Concluding the work, it was possible to notice modifications on the negative conceptions about mathematics, as well as a change of attitudes of the students, who became more interested, critical and creative.
